Network evaluation

On Thursday 12th June 2008, Mediana gave a training in Brussels about Network evaluation. Mediana is the external evaluator of the EU project DARE. DARE, Democracy and Human Rights Education in Europe, is a Europe-wide network focusing on the twin fields of EDC (Education for Democratic Citizenship) and HRE (Human Rights Education). The network currently consists of 37 member organizations from 26 countries in Europe (http://www.dare-network.eu/). DARE´s most recent EU-project focuses on “Democracy and Human Rights Education in Adult Learning”. The work plan for 2008-2010 includes Special Interest Groups, Synchronized Action Days, a conference and a hearing on EDC/HRE in the European parliament. Mediana is in charge of the evaluation of this project.
Together with the project board it has been decided that Mediana will develop quality criteria that are not yet used by networks evaluation and that could be more pertinent than the ones used by the EC to evaluate networks.
The training programme in Brussels included an introduction to current evaluation criteria for EU projects as well as the identification of new quality criteria.
